Our Artwork On "THINGSTALK" Website

"A selection of the children’s waste sculptures will be presented to the participants of COP15 as a part of the planned "Children’s Creative ClimateCamp" which will take place in Ballerup and Rødovre from 2-6 December 2009. The children’s waste sculptures and their short climate statements will be regarded as the voices of the children."
We have invented artwork out of waste and unused materials and shared our recycling projects on thingtalk website. We very much hope that our voices will be heard around the world.
Special thanks to Miss Hoda Shaaban for her kind assistance.

A Special Bond With The Elderly Community: Maine, USA

"Our community has a growing number of elderly people. We have a local organization, Spectrum Generations, that helps them stay connected within our community. The community being Nobleboro and other surrounding towns. Mrs Paula welcomed this group of people into her classroom several years ago and it has grown into something very special. Students in grades 2 & 3 meet with senior buddies once a month for the entire school year. Activities are planned for each visit. Everyone enjoys making friends and creating a special bond with the elderly community. Our last visit of the year is always a little sad as buddies say good-bye for the summer. Our Voice Thread project are pictures of students with their buddy holding a Thanksgiving turkey they made together. Hope you enjoy!"

Mrs. Linda Taylor

What gifts do the elderly prefer more than care and concern??? NO words can describe these photos...these are the photos that describe LOVE...We can feel the warmth and happiness just looking at them.

Mrs Schuster and Mrs Taylor, you have touched our hearts....Good teachers create good learners, but GREAT teachers like you, create better human beings.
You are making a difference!

THANK YOU

Weather In Craig, Colorado

It was 6 degrees (F) at 9:00 this morning at Sunset Elementary School in Craig, Colorado, USA. We had to stay inside for recess, but it was up to 19 at lunch time so we went outside! Not much snow left from the weekend storm, but enough to have a little winter fun!
Mrs Cheryl Arnett

Mrs. Arnett, it's still autumn here in Lebanon, but we're getting ready for winter. The highlands of Lebanon enjoy heavy snowfall, but Beirut has a cool, rainy winter. Now we can compare and contrast the differences in weather...
Enjoy the snow while it lasts!

Autumn Walk In West Lothian, UK

Here is an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G autumn walk slideshow from our partner school, Mid Calder Primary, in West Lothian, UK. This is Mrs Hendry's class of nine year old children. They were exploring their local woodland to look for squirrels and fox trails. They were also classifying trees.

It's so clear that you've had fun and learned a lot about trees from your "autumn walk". We've enjoyed viewing your beautiful autumn pictures and wish to visit that place one day.
Special thanks goes to Mrs. Hendry and Ms. Wilma Gordon for sharing your glorious autumn in your country with us.

Not- So- Scary Scarecrow

If I were a scarecrow, I would.......

We have been studying about the season and the things we see all around us during fall time. We made a classroom scarecrow out of brown paper bag, newspapers, buttons, yarn, and construction paper. We named him Grumpy. Grumpy doesn't frighten away the crows, but it is admired!
We made a huge mess but it was really fun! We love scarecrows, don't you???

Four Seasons Of Grade Two

We worked in four groups depending on which season we were born. We made sentences about the cards we were holding to tell about what people do in different seasons.
